Maintenance Tips
  • Clean the Air Filters Regularly: Clean the air filters every 1–2 months to prevent dust, dirt, and allergens from accumulating. A clean filter helps maintain optimal airflow and system efficiency. Use a vacuum or rinse with water (if safe).
  • Clean the Indoor Evaporator Coils: Periodically clean the indoor unit’s evaporator coils with a soft cloth or a coil cleaner. This helps prevent dust buildup, which can affect cooling and heating performance, and reduces the chance of mold growth.
  • Clean the Outdoor Condenser Coils: Clean the outdoor condenser coils at least once a year to remove dirt, leaves, and debris. Use a soft brush or low-pressure water spray to avoid damaging the coils, ensuring optimal heat exchange and efficiency.
  • Inspect and Maintain Refrigerant Levels: Ensure the refrigerant level is sufficient. Low refrigerant levels can lead to inefficient cooling and heating. If the system isn’t performing as expected, contact a professional for an inspection and refrigerant recharge.
  • Check the Condensate Drain: Regularly inspect the condensate drain to ensure it is clear of blockages. A clogged drain can lead to water damage and inefficiency. Clean it periodically to avoid water-related issues.
  • Ensure Proper Clearance Around the Outdoor Unit: Maintain at least 3 feet of clearance around the outdoor unit to prevent debris buildup that can obstruct airflow and affect system performance.
  • Test Heating and Cooling Functions: Ensure that both cooling and heating modes are working properly, especially during seasonal transitions. This ensures the system is ready for both hot and cold weather.
  • Inspect the Refrigerant Lines and Connections: Check the refrigerant lines and connections for any visible damage or leaks. Damaged lines should be repaired immediately to prevent system malfunctions.
  • Check Remote Control and Settings: Ensure that the remote control or app is functioning properly and that the settings are correct for your desired temperature and mode.
  • Schedule Professional Annual Maintenance: Schedule a professional technician to perform a thorough inspection and cleaning of the system at least once a year. This helps ensure that your unit is running efficiently and prolongs its lifespan.
