Maintenance Tips
  • Clean the Air Filters Regularly: Clean the air filters every 1-2 months to prevent dust and debris buildup that can restrict airflow. You can vacuum or rinse the filters (if safe) to maintain optimal airflow and improve system efficiency.
  • Clean the Indoor Unit Coils: Periodically clean the indoor unit’s evaporator coils with a soft cloth or coil cleaner to remove dirt and dust. This helps maintain the efficiency of cooling and heating and prevents mold growth.
  • Inspect and Clean the Outdoor Condenser Coils: Clean the condenser coils on the outdoor unit at least once a year to remove dirt, leaves, or other debris that can obstruct airflow. Use a soft brush or low-pressure water to clean them.
  • Check Refrigerant Levels: Ensure refrigerant levels are adequate. If the system is not providing proper cooling or heating, it may be low on refrigerant, requiring professional inspection and recharging.
  • Inspect the Drain Line: Ensure the condensate drain is clear of obstructions. A clogged drain can cause water leakage or damage to the unit. Regularly check and clean it to allow proper drainage.
  • Clear the Area Around the Outdoor Unit: Keep the area around the outdoor unit free from debris, leaves, and obstructions. At least 3 feet of clearance should be maintained to ensure proper airflow and efficient operation.
  • Test Cooling and Heating Functions: Test both the cooling and heating modes to ensure the heat pump is functioning correctly. This ensures your unit is ready for both warm and cold weather.
  • Check for Leaks and Damage: Regularly inspect the refrigerant lines and connections for any visible leaks or damage. If you notice any issues, contact a professional technician to address them before they cause more significant damage.
  • Inspect the Remote Control and Settings: Ensure your remote control or app is working correctly and that the system settings (temperature, fan speed, etc.) are appropriately configured for your comfort.
  • Schedule Annual Professional Maintenance: Have a licensed technician service your system at least once a year. They can perform a comprehensive checkup, clean the internal components, and ensure everything is operating at peak efficiency.
