Maintenance Tips
  • Clean the Air Filters: Check and clean the air filters every 1-2 months, especially during peak use seasons. Use a vacuum or rinse with water (when safe) to remove dust, dirt, and debris, ensuring proper airflow and system efficiency.
  • Clean the Indoor Unit Evaporator Coils: Periodically clean the evaporator coils in the indoor unit to prevent dirt buildup, which can reduce cooling and heating efficiency. Use a soft cloth or a specialized coil cleaner to remove debris.
  • Inspect the Outdoor Unit Condenser Coils: The outdoor condenser coils should be cleaned annually. Use a soft brush or low-pressure water spray to remove dirt, leaves, or other debris that could hinder heat exchange and reduce performance.
  • Check Refrigerant Levels: Ensure that refrigerant levels are adequate. If the system is not cooling or heating as effectively, it might be due to a refrigerant leak. Call a professional technician for a check and recharge.
  • Inspect the Drain Line: Regularly check the condensate drain for clogs or obstructions. A blocked drain can lead to water damage or reduced efficiency. Clean it periodically to ensure proper drainage.
  • Examine the Outdoor Unit for Debris: Keep the area around the outdoor condenser unit free from leaves, dirt, or other debris. Ensure at least 3 feet of clearance around the unit for optimal airflow and performance.
  • Inspect the Remote Control and Settings: Verify that the remote control or app is functioning properly, and make sure settings such as temperature and fan speed are correct.
  • Check for Leaks or Damage: Inspect the system's piping, tubing, and connections for any visible signs of damage, wear, or leaks. If you notice any issues, have them addressed immediately to prevent further damage.
  • Test the Heat Pump Mode: Make sure the heat pump mode is working correctly by testing the heating function during colder months. Ensure warm air is properly circulated through the indoor unit.
  • Schedule Annual Professional Service: Arrange for a licensed HVAC technician to perform an annual service check to ensure the unit is operating optimally, check for potential issues, and ensure system longevity.
